Just a poem I whipped up. Nothing fancy, since I'm not used to writing poems.
Confessions of a Lonely Squirrel:
I always allow HIM to walk on by
Always giving me a gentle sigh
With his long, flowing hair, black as night,
If he only knew, I did not bite
The fact he's human, doesn't bother me,
If only he could see, the way I see
I watch him every day on the same ol' walk,
Not trying to stare, or even stalk
He seems so sad, maybe I can help,
If only this human felt what I felt
My heart aches for him, everyday,
If only we could talk, I'd have something to say
My love is all yours, my silky knight,
But by your laws, it wouldn't be right
How can someone put a paper on love? Humans are complicated,
The smell of your musk has me intoxicated
But perhaps you're not like the others, you look past laws,
You'll love me for who I am... my fur, teeth and claws
You always have a smile when you see me in the park,
I think it's time I leave my mark
I'll walk up, look at you standing above,
and you'll whisk me away... in forbidden love...
